Outrage as £795 wedding dress is stolen from charity shop

A Kirkcaldy charity shop is reeling after a heartless thief stole a wedding dress worth £795.

The Capability Scotland shop, which is on High Street, had staged a Wedding Fair on Saturday, highlighting its collection of dresses.

However, on Monday afternoon staff at the shop discovered a £795 Phase Eight dress was missing.

Linda Whitesmith, manager of the shop, believes a group that entered the shop on the afternoon might be responsible.

She said: “I wasn’t in but the assistant manager was. However, he was busy at the bottom of the shop helping a customer. A group of people made their way to the wedding dresses towards a grey mannequin that had the most beautiful dress on it.”

“We think it was stripped off and dropped in a bag.”
