Police have issued a photo of a man they want to speak to after a serious assault in Kirkcaldy.
The image of Steven Douglas was released to the media as officers continue their investigation into what they describe as an ‘‘extremely violent attack.’’
It happened in a house in the Craigmount area on Tuesday, November 1.
As a result, a 45-year old woman suffered serious injuries to her upper body and was left in fear for her safety.
Police want to trace Douglas, aged 58.
Detective Sergeant Craig Fraser of Kirkcaldy CID said: “This was an extremely violent attack that left the woman fearing for her safety and we are keen to arrest the person responsible.
“We have released an image of a man we wish to speak with in connection with this matter and urge anyone who has seen him to contact police immediately.”
He said Douglas can assist with the on-going investigation, and anyone who has seen him is asked to come forward.
