Teenager (14) assaulted outside McDonald's in Fife town

Jason Cameron, of Tummel Road, Glenrothes, appeared before Sheriff Alistair Thornton at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
Cameron, 19, admitted that on February 21 this year at McDonalds in Flemington Road, Glenrothes he assaulted a 14-year-old boy by punching him on the face, causing him to fall to the ground to his injury.

Hide AdHe further admitted committing the offence while on bail and breaching his bail conditions by being outside of his home address.
The Procurator Fiscal Depute told the court at around 9pm on the day in question the accused drove to McDonalds in Glenrothes and parked in the car park: “He punched the complainer on the face and got back into the vehicle and drove off.
"The complainer went into McDonalds and asked staff there to contact police.

Hide Ad"Officers arrived and met with the complainer who was under the influence of alcohol. They took him to his parents address and traced the accused. The complainer had cuts inside his gum but required no further treatment.
"The accused was interviewed and admitted punching the accused and admitted being out past his curfew. He also admitted consuming three bottles of vodka and a bottle of Buckfast.”
Cameron’s defence agent said his client was moving to his mother’s address as his peers where he was currently staying were not great.
Sheriff Thornton sentenced him to an 18-week restriction of liberty order from 8pm to 7am.
