Thieves target Fife primary school

Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in to a primary school in Glenrothes.

Thieves struck at Pitcoudie Primary School in the north of the town over the weekend, taking nine laptops.

The break-in occurred just after 7am on Sunday, November 20 and officers estimate the total value of the stolen items to be around £8,100.

The latest incident comes just two weeks after vandals destroyed a community garden at the school.

The suspects are described only as wearing dark clothing and hooded tops with the hoods up.

Sergeant Paul Thomson from Glenrothes police station said: “Pitcoudie Primary School was recently subject to vandalism and so it is extremely disheartening for the staff and pupils that the building has been targeting once again, resulting in several thousands of pounds worth of laptops being stolen.

“I would ask anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the school on Sunday morning to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone with any further information that can help us trace those responsible should also get in touch.”
