Woman arrested after Smeaton disturbance

A woman has been arrested after a disturbance at a residential area of Fife.

The incident took place at the Smeaton area of Kirkcaldy this morning.

It follows heavy police presence in the area surrounding Veronica Crescent earlier today.

Witnesses reported a number of police vehicles in the area earlier this afternoon.

Police confirmed that an arrest had been made, and that the incident has now been brought to a close.

The woman who was arrested was taken to hospital afterwards.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a disturbance within a property at Veronica Crescent in Kirkcaldy shortly after 11.40am on Friday, 30 October.

"A 35-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident which has now been concluded.

“She has been taken to the Victoria Hospital to be checked over.

"The incident was contained to within a single property and there was no risk to the wider public."
