Woman, charged with assault and robbery of 82 year old on busy Fife high street

High Street, Kirkcaldy where an 82 year-old woman was assaulted and robbed on Monday.

Police have confirmed that a 31 year-old woman has been charged in connection with the assault and robbery of an 82 year-old woman on Kirkcaldy High Street.

The incident happened yesterday when the pensioner was assaulted and robbed of her handbag on the thoroughfare.

Due to what the police have claimed was a ‘quick reaction’ and ‘bravery’ from the public, the bag was recovered and the perpetrator was apprehended by the police.

A spokesman from the Kirkcaldy Police said: A 31 year-old female will be appearing at court.”
