“I’ve just been into Cupar Foodbank – it’s just a wee pile of bits and bobs,” Cllr Marjoram says in the 40-second video.

“They’ve just about run out of stuff, everything. Today they’ve had ten families in. Ten families from Cupar who need to use the foodbank.

“I don’t know how that makes you feel, I know how it makes me feel.”

According to the foodbank, people from Cupar and the surrounding areas have been “extremely generous” following the video.

A spokesman added: “The foodbank has become increasingly busy over the past few weeks and with the advent of universal credit we are having to support individuals and families over a longer period of time.

“People are having to wait 5 weeks for a payment and more and more we are being asked to support families during this time.

The foodbank will be hosting a fundraising event at St Columba’s Church Hall on Saturday.
