Cyclist injured in A92 hit and run

It happened around 11.10 p.m. on Saturday near to Moonzie.

A 79-year-old man was riding his bike when he was knocked off by a passing vehicle, which didn’t stop.

Local residents heard the collision and came to the cyclist’s aid.

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Sergeant James Henry from the Road Policing Unit in Fife said: “We are eager to trace the driver of the vehicle, who, given the time of night, may not know they struck a cyclist, but may notice some damage to their vehicle which is consistent with a collision.

“If you were on the A92 near Moonzie late on Saturday evening and believe you were this motorist then please contact us immediately.

“In addition, anyone else who has information that can assist with this inquiry should also get in touch.”
