The opening of a new car park at the Victoria Hospital has been delayed.

Car park ‘F’ was due to open for use by motorists on Monday (April 13), however NHS Fife has said the opening will be “subject to a short delay”.

A statement by the health authority on its website said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the opening of the new Car Park F on the Victoria Hospital site will be subject to a short delay.

“Whilst there is no definitive timescale for opening as of yet, we intend to issue an update in the coming days once a revised date is confirmed.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Car park ‘F’ was the final phase of the programme to increase parking availability at the Kirkcaldy hospital.

Located on the western side of the hospital campus with access from Lauder Road, the car park will add an additional 117 parking spaces to the site, including three blue badge spaces.

The latest phase of developments build upon work completed last year, which saw the parking compliment at the hospital increase by 198 spaces.
