DEMOLITION work at the old Bell Baxter School in Cupar is continuing apace.

This week the signatures of several Fife Council painters and decorators who worked on the school in the 60s and 70s were revealed.

They include R. Wallace, R. McDonald and F. Janeczko — names that will be familiar to many Fife Herald readers.

Thirty affordable homes and one business unit are being built on the site, which has lain derelict for a decade.

The old school’s facade on West Port is being left in place.

Meanwhile, Cupar Community Council has put forward its street name suggestion for the new housing complex.

Members voted for Old School Road ahead of names relating to school founder Sir David Baxter.
