Entrepreneurs of the future showcased their ideas at an event in front of business leaders from across Fife last week.

Tycoon Teens, Inspiring Fife is a pilot scheme open to all S5 and S6 pupils at schools across the Kingdom who have an innovative idea and need some support to develop both that idea and their own personal skills.

Last week four finalists from Glenrothes, Glenwood and St Columbas high schools pitched their ideas to business leaders in a Dragon’s Den style event.

And the winning team on the night came from Glenrothes High School.

All four finalists brought innovate and creative ideas which all have the potential to be successful businesses.

The winning team, made up of Jordan Forbes, Steven Nicol and Danny Seath, has created an innovative idea for highlighters, and in doing so they have won the support of a business mentor to guide them as they take their idea forward.

Richard Dixon, entrepreneurship champion for Fife Economy Partnership, said: “I have been amazed at the depth of thought, creativity and confidence all of our finalists showed.

“It is inspiring to know we have such a great talent in Fife and all of them have proved they have the passion to be business leaders in the future.

“We are committed to supporting all of them in developing their skills and ideas further.”

Sean Kennedy, director of K2 Marketing, added: “Although there had to be one winner, all finalists spoke with passion and confidence about their idea and all of the concepts have a winning formula with them.

“Congratulations to all of them, but especially Jordan, Steven and Danny.”
