IT’S time to light the lights!
This return to the big screen for the greatest gang of all time was a big hit with audiences, and rightly so.
Muppet superfan Walter and his brother Gary (Jason Segel, who is also the co-writer) travel to the abandoned Muppet studio to find that it’s being sold to evil oil magnate Tex Richman.
They they team up with Kermit the Frog to track down the rest of the Muppets, who have long since gone their separate ways, in an effort to raise the $10 million they need to save the theatre.
And how do the raise the money?
By putting on a show – what else?
There are a string of celebrity cameos from the likes of Jack Black, as well as a bunch of new songs, including the Oscar-winning ‘Man or Muppet’. This is The Muppets updated for the 21st century and it works extremely well. And though it’s more than just a nostalgic hark back, if you’re old enough to remember them from first time around the sight of Kermit singing ‘The Rainbow Connection’ is almost certain to make you blub like a four year old who’s fallen off their bike.
