THIS is a fun, light-hearted comedy. It may sound like a chick flick, but this one will be enjoyed by male viewers too - trust me. Producer Judd Apatow (‘Knocked Up’ and ‘The 40-year-old Virgin’) has created a very watchable and entertaining comedy with some real laugh out loud moments.
Annie (Kristen Wiig) is asked by old school friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) to be her maid of honour. She’s thrilled to be asked, despite her life being a mess. Her business has gone down the drain, she’s broke and her love life is a disaster, but Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals leading up to Lillian’s big day.
She heads a group of colourful bridesmaids, each one so different the majority of people watching this film will find one they can particularly relate to. Don’t expect anything too deep and meaningful from this film as you won’t find it. This film was hailed by many when it came onto the big screen as the female equivalent of ‘The Hangover’ - I wouldn’t go that far, but if you’ve got the time to spare and you want a laugh then this is a good choice. Just sit back, relax and enjoy a few hours of fun.
