The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
DOUGLAS Adams’ sci-fi novel comes to life in this film adaptation.
It has already been a radio and television series, but this is it given the Hollywood treatment.
Join Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) as he experiences an adventure through space.
Waking up one morning Dent’s house is set to be demolished to make way for a bypass.
Little does he know, the earth is about to be destroyed to make way for an interplanetary bypass by the Vogons.
He’s whisked off the planet by his best friend and alien-in-disguise Ford Prefect.
The pair embark on a journey across the galaxy, accompanied by the trusty Hitchhiker’s Guide, looks a bit like a tablet computer.
The guide is voiced by Stephen Fry and provides some of the funniest moments in this film, alongside Marvin the paranoid android, voiced by Alan Rickman.
The rest of the cast are also strong.
Although not completely true to Adams’ book, this film is still worth the watch.
