Those who have benefited from the East Neuk Wheelchair Appeal gathered together at a special meeting last week.
The 15 local groups and charities came together to celebrate the donations at the Craw’s Nest in Anstruther, as well as a hugely successful year for the charity which was established in 1989.
Receiving donations of between £500-2500, those groups which benefited from the appeal were: Homelands Trust, East Neuk after school club, CHAS, D.E.B.R.A, Motor Neuron, ENABLE, East Neuk Emergency Trust, PSP, MS, Diabetic Endowment Fund, Bankie Park Development Fund, Marie Curie, St Monans School, Anstruther Medical Practice and Pittenweem/Elie Medical Practice.
In the past year, the appeal has raised a fantastic amount of money, which included £12,000 at the annual Charity Dinner, £5000 from the Ribbonfield Trust and £6250 from the Sheena McLeod Estate.
As well as helping out local groups, the appeal has also managed to provide mobility for nine people and has handed out a number of portable chairs on short term loans.
And looking to the year ahead, in which the appeal celebrates its 25th anniversary, organisers will welcome famous football manager Alex Ferguson at its anniversary gala dinner in November.
