A COUPLE from the East Neuk has proven that love really does last, with the pair celebrating 70 years of wedded bliss earlier this month.

The platinum wedding of 88-year-old Isabella and 90-year-old Charles Imrie of University Avenue, Pittenweem, was marked on October 11, when they were presented with flowers by Councillor Mike Scott-Hayward on behalf of Fife Council and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant John Macinness.

During their working lives, Charles was a bus driver in the Anstruther area while Isabella was a housewife. The pair have lived in Pittenweem for most of their married life.
