East Neuk store nominated for best small shop award
The Pittenweem Hub – a grocery store and a pharmacy – was nominated for an award by local MP Stephen Gethins.
The Hub has become an important part of the community and played a crucial role in making sure no one went without during the ‘Beast from the East’ in March.

Hide AdManager Iain Rooney said he was “delighted” to have been nominated.
He added: “Community engagement is key and our pharmacy background with a focus on health and service provision, makes us ideally placed to meet the needs of the community with locally sourced, fairly-priced goods as well a delivery service.
“We are on first name terms with many customers and realise that for some, we may be the only contact they have with other people all day or week.”
The Best Small Shops competition was launched to promote small shops and the role they play in their communities.
The winner will be announced at Westminster on November 13.
