A local diversion is currently in place via the Jawbanes Road.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair, of Fife’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our condolences are with the family of the man who sadly died.

“I would appeal to anyone who was travelling on the B9157 around midnight or late last night who might have seen a man wearing dark clothing walking on that route, or who may have seen a white Ford Transit van travelling towards Kirkcaldy, to get in touch.

“Road closures are still in place while enquiries are conducted at the scene, and I want to thank the public for their patience at this time.”
