A young runner showed a clean pair of heels to most of the adults at the annual Chariots of Fife race on the West Sands, St Andrews, on Sunday.
At only 11, Anna Hedley led the women’s field in the 5km run and crossed the line in a very impressive 19m 51s.
As well as being fastest female, Anna finished 15th overall.
Cameron Milne was the fastest male, finishing in 16m 19s.
There were a record number of runners in the event - 410 in all, which was slightly down from the 457 sign-ups but the weather forecast could well have put some runners off.
However, as it turned out the rain cleared and the race had dry skies and even some sunshine for the prizegiving.
It is estimated the event raised around £6000 - almost double the amount of last year for St Andrews-based Worldwide Cancer Research.
