The inaugural north east Fife Jobs Fair at SRUC Elmwood Campus is now just a month away.
The event, on February 19, replicates similar ones that have been held across the UK.
Huw Bell, Scottish Conservative candidate for North East Fife, and SRUC Elmwood Campus are hosting the Fair that will be offering jobs, apprenticeships and skills advice.
Companies ranging from Scott’s Catering Services and Balgove Larder to Quaker Oats and major local hotels will be looking at recruitment prospects.
In addition, support organisations such as Jobcentre Plus and the Prince’s Trust, which offers employment education and training advice, will be present.
Also attending are recruitment teams from the local Army Reserve unit, as well as the Army, RAF and Royal Navy which will be offering careers advice.
Everybody is welcome to come along to the event whether they are a school leaver, job seeker or just looking for a change.
SRUC Elmwood Campus will also be holding its open evening on the day from 5 – 7.30pm, offering a chance to find out about courses, speak to specialist lecturers and enquire about funding and student support available at Elmwood.
Mr Bell, co-organiser, said : “I am delighted to be partnering with SRUC Elmwood Campus to hold this event.
“We are fortunate here to have high employment but I want to help people who are looking for work or a change of career to get on. I was inspired by events held by people such as Richard Harrington MP in Watford and I’m excited to bring this concept to north east Fife.
“We have had great interest from employers and support organisations but there are still places for others to sign up. We want as many job opportunities to be available as possible. It’s totally free to take part and I urge interested parties to get in touch.
“We have an exciting summer coming up, with events such as the Open and there will be many positions that need to be filled by talented local staff. The event will be free for all to come and see what is on offer and ask advice.”
