APPROVAL given to a project which will create business infrastructure for an offshore turbine development at the Energy Park shows the Methil site is ready for business.
That’s according to councillors of the Levenmouth area committee who granted approval to Scottish Enterprise for it to excavate land at the former Wellesley Colliery and prepare it for a wind turbine development.
They also allowed Scottish Enterprise to press ahead with plans to create a bridge and other office accommodation at the site.
Councillor Alistair Hunter said: “I’m in favour of this.
“It marks the next stage of the development of the Levenmouth area.
“If we were to say no to this then it sends out totally the wrong message. By saying yes it shows that we’re ready now.”
Cllr David Graham echoed those comments adding the proposals were part of a “bigger picture” for the area.
