The council is advising those affected to leave their bins out for collection.

A spokesperson for Fife Council said: "Sorry to advise that the disruption to rural services in the East/North East of Fife is now affecting the whole of Fife (only rural collection routes) after another unavoidable vehicle issue.

"Please leave bins out for collection if you are on a rural route - crews will be doing their very best to catch up.

The council has noted that it may "well be over the weekend" before issues are resolved.
