Fife Council's bulky / special item uplift service is back up and running.

The aim is to help residents get rid of unwanted household waste built up over lockdown.

The service can be booked online, but it will only operate initially on Saturdays, from June 6.

Councillor Ross Vettraino, who convenes the environment committee, said: “We are pleased to confirm the return of our special item collection service. This waste collection service can now be booked online .

"We anticipate that initial demand for this service will be high, so please only book a bulky uplift if you have waste that poses a health or fire risk and cannot safely be stored at home.”

This online service is an easy way to arrange the collection of unwanted items and offers an alternative to booking a slot at one of the council's open recycling centres.

The council is also advising local people to see if any item can be reused first, before it is uplifted
