Fife households hit by discoloured water supplies

Scottish Water is monitoring the situation after complaints across the region over the weekend.

Discoloured water supplies were reported in Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Lochgelly, Methil, Cupar, St. Andrews and Newport on Tay.

Scottish Water said it there were also reports of intermittent supply issues as a result of high demand during this hot weather spell.

It said it was monitoring its network and there are signs it is settling and improving.

The organisation advised people not to leave taps running to check if water runs clear.

An update is due later this afternoon.
