Rally is the latest sport to be recognised by the Kennel Club – each dog and handler work together as a team, navigating a course of 10-15 exercises.

Every course is different and there are over 100 exercises, including stationary tasks, recalls, jumps, retrieves and cone weaves.

The Inter-regional Rally Competition takes place at Crufts each year between seven teams representing Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and four English regions.

There are six competitors in the Scottish team and Amy features in Level Four when the action gets underway at the NEC tomorrow (Thursday).

She said: “Duke was adopted from a rescue centre in Ireland. He is an amazing companion and has achieved so much in Rally and Agility at a young age.

“He loves to cuddle up but also enjoys running about having fun. His favourite game is tug!”
