A Lundin Links playpark is to receive a £60,000 upgrade and refurbishment.
Work will be carried out on Durham Play Park, after a consultation was held with locals about the park.
Iain Wilson, Parks Development Officer, said: “Lundin Homes are building some new homes next to the site and, as part of the planning agreement, they’ve given us £48,300 towards the refurbishment of the playpark.
“We’ve worked with a group of local parents on the design. They ran a consultation in the local primary school and as a result new equipment will include swings, a climbing net, a roundabout with wheelchair access and a new toddler unit. We’ll also install a couple of new picnic tables.”
