A statement issued on social media by Fife Council said: “Thanks to people sticking to the restrictions we’re continuing a staged approach to re-opening sites, whilst ensuring the safety of staff and users. We’ll continue to review sites, to make it easier to dispose of recycling and waste.

“We’re currently NOT accepting electrical items (small or large) ,soils, rubble, textiles or other larger bulky items that cannot be fitted into a car and disposed of by one person.”

The bulky uplift service, which can be booked on the council’s website, is running and will pick up large items.

Dunfermline, Ladybank and Lochgelly Recycling Centres will be open seven days a week with no lunch breaks, while Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews, Pittenweem, Dalgety Bay and Methil will be open on their pre-covid days with no lunch breaks.

Time slots are available to book from 9.10am to 5.30pm.
