UP and coming young performers from in and around St Andrews will showcase their talent amongst an exciting mix of dance and theatre during the Byre Theatre’s popular ‘Inside Out’ street theatre and outdoor performance festival.
Featuring some of the leading contemporary companies in the UK and Europe, the festival runs from Friday, July 27, to Sunday, July 29.
Rapid-fire custard-shooting ‘splurge guns’ and some amazing singing signal the arrival in St Andrews of Roaring 20s Chicago gangsters, otherwise known as the Byre Youth Theatre, on the green outside Madras College’s South Street campus next Friday and Saturday.
The American Prohibition era musical is just one of an exciting array of acts in this year’s bigger and better festival,
High-energy dance, music, aerial acrobatics and drama will unfold before your very eyes, transforming the centre of St Andrews into a colourful and exciting place to be.
Most of the action will take place on the green in front of Madras College, South Street and in Church Square.
However, a London Taxi with some energetic ‘passengers’ will be touring the town. Prepare to be surprised!
Now in its fourth year, ‘Inside Out’ is breaking new boundaries. There’s ‘Parkour’ or ‘Freerunning’ - around and on top of that taxi; a high-octane show starring supermarket ‘Trolleys’; the hilarious Wimbledon inspired: ‘Anyone for Tennis?’; ‘Dear Lido’ a 1940s-style promenade of bathers sure to evoke memories of the Step Rock Swimming Pool, St Andrews, and lots more.
