It’s that time of the year again as Glenrothes Art Club are preparing to open the doors on their latest exhibition.
The annual exhibition is the biggest event of the year for the club, which regularly meets in the club rooms in Alburne Park.
The exhibition will run from Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, October 8 in the fifeSpace Gallery in the town’s Rothes Halls.
This year the club members will be displaying a presentation of contemporary and traditional fine art in oils, watercolours, acrylics, pastels and pen and ink.
In addition to the impressive arrangement of some 200 paintings and drawings there will be two large display cases full of imposing craft work.
As in previous years, all of the work on show is for sale at reasonable rates and purchases will also contribute to the future success of the art club.
Entry to the exhibition is free of charge and it can be visited in the upstairs gallery at the community venue during normal opening hours.
Art club members will be on hand from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. every day to assist visitors for the first three weeks of the event.
Lilian Sloan, art club president, said: “I recommend that everyone visits Rothes Halls fifespace Gallery over the next 10 weeks as this is a great opportunity to view the exciting work of local artists and perhaps purchase one for you or your family.”
The annual exhibition is a valuable way for the group to promote its work in the community and for individual artists to gain publicity for their work.
Glenrothes Art Club is now in its 59th year and provides classes and workshops throughout the year with a regular input from professional artist tutors.
The club provides facilities and support to local amateur artists of every skill level.
New members are always welcome to attend the club.
