A new innovative and interactive insight into the world of art has arrived at Methil Heritage Centre.
Art Lab will run throughout the spring and summer until August 28, and allows visitors to go behind the art and ask questions about how artists decide what to paint, and what the particular story behind a piece might be.
This family-friendly exhibition uses paintings by well-known artists such as S J Peploe and William McTaggart to explore the world of art in a fun, informative way, and looks at different types of paintings – landscapes, still lifes, portraits – and different styles of painting, from traditional to contemporary.
Hands-on activities help younger visitors to learn more about important elements in art, from colour and composition to perspective, while visitors can try their hand at some artwork too through still life and fuzzy felt portraits.
And why not see if you have what it takes to be an artist in the giant gallery board game.
Admission to the Art Lab exhibition is free. Methil Heritage Centre is open Tues-Thurs 11.00 a.m.-4.30 p.m., and Saturday 1.00-4.30 p.m.
