The owner of a Falkland hairdressing salon put his best foot forward recently to complete the Wall Ultra marathon.
Scott Robb, who owns Scott Robb Hairdressing, finished in an impressive ninth position at the event held on June 21-22. There were over 450 people in the race, with 389 completing the gruelling 69 miles to the finish line.
The ultra marathon, which started at Carlisle Castle on the Saturday morning, followed much of the route of Hadrian’s Wall before finishing at the Millennium Bridge in Gateshead.
Scott decided to take on the challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support after losing a close family friend to cancer in late 2013.
His amazing feat has already raised over £2000 and he’s decided to carry on the fundraising by running the New York Marathon on November 2. Scott finished the race in an impressive time of 11hrs 51mins and 02 seconds. For many of the training miles that Scott ran before the event, his dog Holly was his training partner, so it was extra special that she was able to cross the finish line with him.
