Methilhill Community Children’s Initiative welcomed locals to its Christmas Craft Fayre at the weekend, and raised a fantastic £800 to help with the running of the group.
There was plenty to enjoy at the event on Saturday, including Santa’s Grotto, elves post office, festive crafts, carol singing around the Christmas tree and tasty mince pies and hot chocolate.
Shirley Faichney from the group said: “The event went really well. There was a large turn out which was very impressive considering it was an outdoor event in December!
“Parents commented that they really enjoyed the uniqeness of the event.”
The group was in high spirits after receiving a £4652 Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The money will be used to help develop the community garden to make it more accessible for young people with disabilities.
In recognition of the good news, David Torrance MSP put forward a motion in parliament congratulating MCCI, and offered his support to them for the future.
