Museums and galleries across Fife are getting ready to take part in Scotland’s annual Festival of Museums, a nationwide programme of cultural events taking place from May 15 – 17.

Local events include everything from ‘Dippy about Dinosaurs’ a free family day out at the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace where children will work with members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to create their very own dinosaur music, as well as create masks and hunt for dinosaur eggs; to ‘Silver in the Shadows’, an evening event, taking place at the Scottish Fisheries Museum, exhibiting the creations of some of Fife’s most exciting artists.

The Festival is run by Museum Galleries Scotland, the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries. The three-day long event will showcase Scotland’s extensive cultural offering through over 100 exciting events taking place across the country. The programme caters to all ages and interests and includes everything from historical re-enactments and night time murder mysteries to children’s storytelling and arts and crafts.
