Fife carnival brings colour to Kirkcaldy

Fife International Carnival arrived in Kirkcaldy and brought a much needed splash of colour to the grey skies.

The gathered crowds watched the parade on the High Street before heading into the Mercat Centre, The Postings and the Town Square to watch the variety of performances.

Acts came from all across the globe to entertain the crowds. Zambian group Barefeet Theatre wowed audiences in the Mercat with their drumming and their ability to balance on each other’s heads! The rain eased a bit and Portuguese band Bombrando came out onto the High Street with their unusual sound of drums and bagpipes.

The Town Square was filled with the sound of Italian brass band Bandakadabra who had everyone dancing to their Latin music and Junkanoos amazed with their vibrant and outlandish costumes and dance moves.

Despite the rain, everybody who came from all over Fife and further afield had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Roll on next year!
