Fife Police investigate woman’s assault in Cardenden

A motorist who stopped to help a woman after she’d been assaulted is being asked to come forward by police.

Fife Constabulary is appealing for the car driver - also a woman - who helped an attacked lady in distress near Cardenden on 7 February 2012, to contact them.

Cowdenbeath based Detective Sergeant Jimmy Adamson said: “A woman walking her dog along Shawsmill Road, Cardenden around 4.30pm on Tuesday, 7 February was assaulted and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.

“In particular we would like to speak to a woman who stopped her car to assist the victim or a man who was walking in the area at the time.

The woman motorist, who was driving a light coloured car, stopped and gave the victim a lift to Cardenden and I am appealing for this woman or anyone else who has information regarding this crime to contact the police on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
