A former Glenrothes school teacher has died after his car crashed into a garden.

Retired High School teacher Gordon Suttie was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy following the car which he was driving overturned and came to rest in a garden in South Parks Road in the town on Sunday evening.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed that the 67-year-old Biology teacher passed away yesterday evening (Wednesday).

They added that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the accident but a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Facebook page, set up in the wake of the crash to wish Mr Suttie a speedy recovery, had already attracted over 1000 likes.
