Fife Weather: All libraries, museums, theatres closed on Thursday

Fife's theatres, museums and libraries will all be closed on Thursday.

Fife Cultural Trust has taken the decision to close its doors after weather warnings were upgraded to red alert for the Kingdom.

The Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy, Rothes Halls in Glenrothes, Lochgelly Theatre and Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall will not open on Thursday.,.

All libraries, including mobile services, will not operate, and museums will also be closed.

It means some shows will also be hit.

A performance of Austen, The Musical scheduled for Rothes Halls on Wednesday was postponed.

Now, the NT Live Reprise screening of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof at the Adam Smith Theatre has been postponed.

It was due to be shown on Thursday, but ticket holders have been told it’s off.

A statement from OnFife was shared on social media early this evening.

It said: ‘‘Following deteriorating conditions throughout the region, we advise that all OnFife theatres, libraries and museums will be closed on Thursday.

‘‘We are trying to re-schedule Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and will let customers know as soon as we have made a decision on moving the screening to a new date.’’

The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline also had to cancel tonight’s gig by Madness’ frontman, Suggs.
