Fire at Lundin Links Hotel being treated as deliberate

Police in Levenmouth believe a fire at Lundin Links Hotel on Saturday night was started deliberately.

Emergency services were called out at 7.53pm to the derelict hotel, which closed its doors in 2014, and crews from Methil, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy quickly arrived on the scene to tackle the blaze.

Detective sergeant Paula Warrender said: “We believe this to have been a deliberate act and are following a number of positive lines of inquiry.

“We are keen to hear from anyone with information that can assist us with our investigation into this fire which has caused a significant amount of damage to a well-loved listed building.”

Firefighters had to use four hose-reel jets and thermal imaging cameras to tackle the fire and departed the scene at 11.17pm.

The stretch of Leven Road running past the hotel was closed while emergency services were in attendance.
