Following a gorse fire at East Sands in St Andrews on Wedesday morning, fire crews were also called out that afternoon after trees and gorse were reported to be alight at East Lomond Hill in Falkland.
Firefighters from Auchtermuchty and Glenrothes fire station used beaters and water backpacks to tackle the fire around 2.38pm.
They left the scene at 6pm.
Steven Michie, group manager, said: “The recent dry weather has heightened the risk of outdoor fires in areas of grass, woodland and gorse. We would urge communities, tourists and visitors to be aware of the increased risk of wildfire at this time and make sure that they act responsibly in a countryside environment”
The public can help prevent wildfires by making sure they dispose of litter and smoking materials carefully while in rural areas.
Land managers are reminded that the legal period for Muirburn ended on April 30.
Anyone who sees someone acting suspiciously, recklessly or irresponsibly in the countryside should contact Police Scotland on 101.
