Staff at Fisher and Donaldson’s in Cupar are on a roll after learning they’ve won a prestigious bakery prize.
The team won gold for their sausage rolls in the 2015 Scotch Pie Awards, which this year attracted a record entry.
Around 100 butchers and bakers entered some 567 pies, pasties, sausage rolls, bridies, savouries and apple pies and the winners were announced at a ceremony in Cumbernauld.
The entries were judged by a team of around 50 experts, along with former Bay City Rollers frontman Les McKeown.
Also among the winners were Mr C’s Pies, of Janesfield, near Newburgh, who won silver in the cold savoury category with their Ploughman’s Pie, and Hunter’s of Kinross, who wonbronze in the hot savoury section with their Festive Pie.
The competition, which has been runningfor 16 years, is organised by the Scotch Pie Club.
