Five arrested following £95,000 Class A drugs bust in Glenrothes

Five men have been arrested after a significant amount of Class A drugs were seized from an industrial premises in Glenrothes.

Officers from the Fife Pro-Active Investigation Unit arrested the males, aged 25, 26, 28, 33 and 38-years-old, at the unit on Whitecraigs Road on Thursday.

A subsequent search recovered 2.4kg of cocaine worth an estimated street value of £95,000.

All of the men were charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act and are expected to appear before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Colin Robson, of Fife Division Pro-Active Investigation Unit, said: “This was a significant seizure of cocaine that was destined for our streets and shows the commitment of Police Scotland to disrupting the sale and supply of controlled drugs by removing drugs from our communities.

“Rest assured that we will act on all information that is passed to us and anyone who wishes to come forward and report criminal activity in their area will be treated with the utmost sensitivity.
