13 Tombs

Leven’s 13 Tombs were formed in summer 2002 by brothers Marcus Carcass and A B Negative after their previous endeavour, The Superevils, imploded in acrimony.

Taking inspiration from bands such as The Damned, The Cramps, Scientists, The Gun Club, Rocket From The Crypt and The Misfits, they immediately proclaimed themselves to be “Scotland’s undisputed kings of Deathrock.”

They set out with their trusty drum machine to blaze a trail of high energy, intense rocking tunes that combined hard guitar riffs with unique vocals to create original songs dealing with topics such as TV soap opera characters who practise voodoo, drag racing transvestites and people who resemble monkeys.

13 Tombs have played shows with highly regarded bands such as The Inca Babies, FANGS, Devilish Presley, The Gin Goblins, and the legendary kings of Psychobilly – The Meteors – among many, many others.

They have released various EPs on their own Radgetone label, recording, producing, designing (and printing) the covers and burning the CDs themselves, a true reflection of the punk DIY spirit.
