FP100 Fife bands 96. Crayons

Sean DeFrancesco, Greg Robins, Andrew “Carty” Carty, and Nick Hernandez describe their sound as ‘waxy’.

It’s a kind of edgy pop/punk that is perfect for the Tuesday afternoon pick-me-up or turning up loud on the drive home, and can be heard on the likes of 2011 track ‘Pretty Pernicious’.

That same year, they released ‘Howling At The Moon’ and embarked on a tour.

Often found playing in local pubs and clubs such as PJ Molloys and The Old Inn, with bands such as Val Verde and New Fiction, the group took to the T Break stage at T in the Park in 2011, and have even played on Aberdour beach.

After taking a break for a few months, the band were back with a bang in 2012 and 2013 with a host of new singles to let off the leash, such as ‘Forget the Weather’ and ‘Waking the Dead’.

Also in 2012, the band performed alongside some of the most well known in the punk scene, The Rezillos and Shed Seven, at the Dunfermline Live Weekender, which featured over 40 bands in 20 local venues around the town.

Supportive of the local Pars, the band played a fundraising gig for the club.
