Homestart Levenmouth has formed a partnership with Fife Gingerbread, Woodlands Nursery and Letham Glen Community Hub to offer free family fun days every week throughout the summer holidays.
The weekly events, which will take place in Letham Glen park in Leven, will be open to families from across the area.
The charity, based in Methil, offers help and support to families with young children, and is hoping as many people as possible will take advantage of the weekly events.
Margaret Laing, Homestart co-ordinator, said: “We used to meet every Thursday during term time, and would continue it in summer, going to the beach or the Glen, but it was all quite loose. But we thought we would give this a try this year, and it’s open to anyone to come along. We’ve put flyers out to all the nurseries and primary schools.”
The fun days will take place every Wednesday between noon and 2.00 p.m. starting next week (July 8) and will feature a number of activities for small children right up to primary school age.
There will be themed events, a sports day, treasure hunts, fitness sessions, Bookbug sessions, a bouncy castle and facepainting.
Parents and carers are free to bring along a picnic, and enjoy all of the facilities at the park following the event.
There will also be an end of summer party, due to take place on Wednesday, August 12 before the kids go back to school.
Caroline Mitchell, who helps to run the Letham Glen Centre, will be there to assist with activities, but reminded locals that the centre will be open seven days per week throughout the summer, from 11.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m. A family fun day in aid of Edinburgh Sick Kids is also due to take place on Sunday, July 26.
Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer who is responsible for their childen during each event.
