Work has been completed on the final phase of the programme to increase the parking availability at the Victoria Hospital.
Car Park ‘F’, which will open on April 13, is located on western side of the hospital campus with access from Lauder Road.
A total of 117 additional spaces have been added through this car park, including three blue badge spaces.
It is hoped the additional spaces will help alleviate parking problems on the hospital site and in the surrounding area.
The latest phase of developments build upon work completed last year, which saw the parking compliment at the hospital increase by 198 spaces.
This car park opening has ensured that NHS Fife has fully complied with planning conditions for the completion of the new wing of the hospital, which opened in 2012.
Jim Leiper, NHS Fife director of estates, facilities and capital services, said: “The completion of car park ‘F’ should help to improve parking options around the hospital site. The addition of blue badge spaces will also provide greater ease of access for those patients who need it most.
“We have worked hard to ensure that the works have caused minimal disruption to patients and visitors and I would like to offer my thanks for the patience shown throughout the duration of the works.”
