She swept to victory to hold the seat vacated by the retiral of Tricia Marwick, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament.

Jenny, a first-time candidate, polled 15,555 - double the Labour vote.
She inherited a 4000 majority from Mrs Marwick, and raised that to 8276.

The result was the first to be declared in Fife and it came as no surprise. The only shock was the sheer scale of her win.

In her speech she thanked the voters and said: ‘‘You have done me proud.’’

Kay Morrison (Labour) polled 7279, Alex Stewart Clark put the Tories third on 4427 with Jane-Anne Liston back in fourth on just 1286.
