Organisers of the 2015 Glenfarg Folk Feast believe the line-up could prove to be the best for many years.
The annual event, now in its 37th year, is hosted by the village’s popular folk club and will take place over the weekend of April 10-12.
So what’s on offer? Well, apart from the usual sing-arounds, sessions and general background of music in the Glenfarg Hotel and gardens, the celebrations will get underway on the Friday night with The Occasionals providing the music.
Saturday will open with a morning workshop on ‘harmony singing’, followed by an organised sing-around and the Original Song Competition, with this year’s theme being ‘Food for Thought’, in recognition of 2015 being Scotland’s year of food and drink.
On the Saturday night, there will be a concert featuring Barluath, supported by Steve Tilston, the Sangsters and Glenfarg’s very own merry band of local minstrels and songsters, the Farg Folk.
The entertainment continues on the Sunday, starting with a guitar instructional workshop, followed by another singaround, children’s entertainment by ‘It’s In The Bag’ – and the world-famous Puff-a-Box Championships!
Then on Sunday night, in the village hall, there will be the chance to hear the legendary Milliganese figure of Vin Garbutt, supported by musicians Mairearad and Anna, and guitarist and singer Bob Wood.
