Police in Fife are appealing for information after thieves broke into a number of shops in Glenrothes on Boxing Day.

Four business premises in Culzean Place, part of the Glamis Centre, were targeted overnight

A three-figure sum of cash was stolen from a computer repair shop, as well as laptop computers.

Community Sergeant Kenny Greig, of Glenrothes Police Station, said: “It appears four properties were broken into, including the computer repair shop and the neighbouring dog groomers, butchers and convenience store.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area over the early hours of Boxing Day, please get in touch.

“Local officers in partnership with Glenrothes Neighbourhood Safety Group will be out speaking to residents in local communities, providing a reassuring presence and supplying helpful security information and advice.

“I’m urging members of the public and business community to remain vigilant and to review security at your property.”
