Works to complete the permanent repair of the A92 River Leven Bridge in Glenrothes will continue into next week.
Teams have been carrying out works to enable the permanent repair of the bridge after the unique, masonry parapet on the bridge was damaged following a vehicle strike in July.
The first phase of repairs to the structure were made in November and a final phase of works is required to complete the bridge and reopen the structure to its full width.
On Monday, December 5 from 7pm – 6am an overnight closure will be put in place to allow delivery of further specialist stone and materials ahead of the bridge repair.
During the closure traffic will be diverted between Preston Roundabout and Balfarg Junction via A911 The Queensway and B969 Western Avenue.
On Wednesday, December 7 to Friday, December 9 from 9.30am – 3.30pm. temporary traffic lights will be in place off-peak during the day for two days to complete the full permanent repair of the bridge.
Traffic management will be removed out with these times however a 30mph speed restriction will remain in place as traffic will be running on narrowed lanes until the bridge is fully reopened following completion of the repair.
Again on Monday, December 12 from 7pm – 6am an overnight closure will be in place to allow the removal of the temporary safety barrier and add new road markings before the road is reopened to the traffic. During the closure traffic will be diverted as before.
