A man is due to appear in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with the murder of Aleksandrs Sokolovs.
The body of the 29-year-old Latvian national was found in a flat in Tummel Road in Glenrothes on Monday, April 13.
Detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team carried out a significant enquiry before arresting and charging a 28-year-old with his murder.
While court proceedings begin, the victim’s family have also paid tribute.
In a statement issued today by his family they said: “Aleksandrs was a very friendly person who loved to travel and experience different cultures.
‘‘He was a loving son and brother and will be missed by all persons who knew him.”
